WALKING
The Pyrenees and its Parc Nationnal are a favourite destination for walkers!!! The GR10 gudes you during your walk, in this environment of protected nature, where you will come across a landscape that has been sculpted over time and some 400 species of flower, including the Ramonia of the Pyrénées, Edelweiss, the Lily of the Pyrénées, Arnica and even Campanula.
 
The Apse valley is the wildest of the 3 valleys in Haut-Béarn  Here, you will discover several small and typical villages, such as Lourdios-Ichère, Aydius and Borce. As in the other valleys, you can sample excellent ewe cheeses.
 
The Ossau valleys high summits, glaciers and a succession of lakes and streams allow it to boast a staggering landscape.  It is where the last brown bears roam.
 
The baretous valley  is the smallest of the three Valleys. High chalky summits overlook huge forests, inviting you to set out to discover this protected natural environment. The Foret d'Iraty close by La Benjamine is wonderful for cross county walking. Pottocks (Basque ponies) run wild here.
 
BIRD WATCHING
Try to catch a glimpse of the most prestigious birds of prey, such as the bearded vulture (3 metres wingspan), the golden eagle and even the tawny vulture (the park prides itself on having saved this endangered species.) The Falaise aux vautours (Cliff of Vultures) at Aste Beon where you can observe vultures, thanks to cameras placed judiciously in the nests.
